This day mobilized millions of people to show care and concern about our precious planet. Within 20 years of the first Earth Day, the large movement morphed into a global phenomenon. We look at this internationally celebrated event but let’s look at one of the major contributors and some of the major advancements resulting directly from this movement. Former Governor and United States Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin is celebrated and credited as the founder of Earth Day. He was internationally known for his views on the environment.
